Spiced Apple and Sausage Salad (dairy free + gluten free + refined sugar free)

This easy seasonal salad recipe is the perfect combination of hearty and healthy, and a perfect way to use up all of those apples you picked on your annual trip to the orchard! With just seven simple ingredients in about 15 minutes in the kitchen, you'll be on your way to creating your new favorite fall salad recipe!

sausages are packed with protein and provide high levels of Vitamin B-12 and Iron, which are essential for healthy red blood cells and haemoglobin production. B-12 helps you metabolise fats and protein.

apples are an excellent source of antioxidants which help to prevent damage to cells caused by states of oxidative stress.

walnuts are a good source of plant based omega-3 fatty acids which have been shown to help prevent heart disease.

coconut oil contains properties that can help treat many different health conditions, from hair and skin damage to poor cognitive function and metabolism.

ginger is loaded with gingerol, a powerful antioxidant linked with improved immune function, better digestion and reduced inflammation.

sage contains vitamins A and C, along with several other antioxidants which help reduce the risk of serious health conditions like cancer. It’s also rich in vitamin K, which aids the body in clotting blood.


1 pound sweet sausage (remove casing)

3 cups peeled & chopped cortland apples

1 tbsp coconut oil

1/4 tsp salterieone sea salt

1/4 tsp ground ginger

1 tsp sage

to taste mixed baby greens

to taste cranberry pear white balsamic

to taste raw chopped walnuts


Cook sausage in pan while crumbling with a spatula until browned.

Heat 1 tbsp coconut oil over medium heat.

Add apples, salt, ground ginger, sage and cook over medium heat for approximately 10 minutes, or until apples are softened.

Add the crumbled sausage to pan and toss to combine. Continue cooking two minutes.

Remove from pan and serve over baby greens with cranberry-pear white balsamic, chopped raw walnuts and salterieone sea salt to taste.
