How To Nourish Your Chakras and Find Balance With Food

I was introduced to chakras when I began to study the healing art of reiki, a form of energy healing. I had just begun my journey to cleanse my system of added chemicals and was starving for alternate forms of physical and spiritual therapy. The idea that I had the ability to manipulate these power sources to my advantage intrigued me.

Chakras are energy centers within and adjacent to the body. The body houses many energy centers but the major chakras run from the head to the base of the spine.

Focusing on the seven main chakras and their likes and dislikes seemed like an entertaining and beneficial exercise. With a combination of modalities including crystals, meditation, essential oils and reiki, I found my balance. I find my balance again and again because just like going to the gym, it is a lifelong process.

It's so important to remember that we are all spiritual beings in human form. Flaws and challenges exist to allow us to continue to grow and ascend. But we have some cool ways to advocate for ourselves along the way and chakra work is one.

In addition to chakra therapies, certain foods can be eaten to assist in the balancing of each chakra. Let’s run through a brief cheat sheet to kick off your journey!
